I was looking forward to the new Peak Design travel tripod and pre-ordered the carbon fiber version. It works exactly as advertised, but I realized after using it a few times that it won't quite work for long exposures in windy conditions with my star tracker for night photography. It actually holds the weight fine, but unfortunately I think I'm going to need a heavier tripod for windy nights in the Adirondacks.

Comes with all original accessories (see photos, including the integrated smartphone adapter) and a bonus -- the Peak Design Universal head adapter, which allows you to use a separate ball head -- see photos. We were actually planning to use the adapter with the old Gitzo head shown in the photos for low angle macro photography, since one limitation of the standard PD tripod is that if you want to get really low to the ground you have to unscrew the center column extension. With the adapter and a separate head, you just slide one out and slide the other one in and the adapter's low profile gets you down to nearly ground level.

There are a few small scratches on one of the legs and a small scratch on the bottom of the capture clip (see photos). Ships in the original Peak Design carton and includes the case, wrench, capture clip, carbon fiber travel tripod and bonus Universal head adapter. Note: does NOT include smartphone, iOptron SkyGuider Pro, or old-but-still-solid Gitzo ball head.
